Emily Zinn
Emily Zinn has followed an enthusiasm for sensory and immersive free-choice learning environments across continents to work in museums, galleries, zoos, and replica ships. Emily oversaw the community curation of the award-winning 2021 Voces Vivas exhibit, and wrote and facilitated the delivery of the grant for Proclaiming Colorado’s Black History. She also led teams for The Boulder Experience, the Playzeum, and more. Prior to working in this Museum, she created interactive exhibits at the Longmont Museum and Cultural Center, an Australian replica ship at port in Brisbane, Australia, a zoo for native Australian animals in Daintree, Australia, and an art gallery in Colorado Springs. Emily has spent over three years abroad and speaks Italian. She was born and raised in Boulder and loves empowering women of all ages to find strength in outdoor lifestyles. She co-runs a women’s cycling team, has coached young cyclists who went on to compete in the World Championships, and has captained her raft, “Priscilla,” down the Grand Canyon twice.
Nicole Sager
Dr. Nicole Sager is a Research Associate for the BUENO Center for Multicultural Education. Her research interests include immigrant populations, multilingualism, early childhood, and teacher preparation. In her 35 years in education, she has taught at the preschool, elementary and secondary levels in the U.S., Japan, and Brazil. Nicole is passionate about languages and deepening cross-cultural understanding. She holds an MA in teaching Spanish and ESL, a PhD in Educational Equity and Cultural Diversity and teaches various university courses in Culturally Linguistically Diverse Education. As founder of Uka Consulting, Nicole provides training and coaching to schools and organizations on topics such as inclusivity, bilingualism, family childcare, transformational coaching, and parenting skills. She has worked with Latine communities in the Denver Metro area for the past 20 years and is delighted to be a Luna Madre board member. She enjoys gardening, cooking, being in nature, and spending time with her family.
Lenz Jn François
Lenz Jn François is a Psychosociologist. Doctorate in Sociology (Clinical Sociology); University of Paris 7, Denis-Diderot, France. Experienced Psychologist, Social Therapist, and Mental Health Counselor with a 25-year track record of successfully developing and implementing techniques aimed at empowering children, teenagers, and young adults to make positive transformations in their lives. Proficient in providing mental health support during both emergency and post-disaster scenarios. Proudly served as a Correspondent for Haiti within the esteemed International Network of Clinical Sociology. Professor at the Department of Psychology, State University of Haiti, P-au-P, Haiti (1996 -2021)
Steven Frost (they/them)
Steven is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Media Studies at CU Boulder and an interdisciplinary fiber artist. Their research focuses on textiles, queer studies, and community development in public spaces. Using weaving, Frost combines traditional materials like yarn and cotton with non-traditional materials from a range of sources, exploring the ways history and time are embedded in materials. Frost is a Co-Founder of the Experimental Weaving Residency, Slay the Runway, and Colorado Sewing Rebellion. Frost is a former Chair of the Boulder Library Commission. Their work has been featured in the Library Journal, the Advocate, Fiber Art Now, and NPR’s Morning Edition and can be founds in the education collection of the Denver Art Museum
